OUR STORY
This story begins in an interview, which is apt considering the topic of our work. Once upon a time back in 2001, two people with big dreams met in a classically romantic job interview situation and the rest, as they say, is history.
Except the history part is the story.
Two young people, with bold ideas and big plans, our focus was recruiting Personal Assistants and other administrative people and we loved it. If you can live the dream in your twenties, then this was it.
We worked with outstanding candidates, placing them in some of London’s most incredible companies, but as all great stories have their ups and downs, this wasn’t to be our happy ever after.
The 2008 recession shocked London to the core. Every company that once hired our amazing people, had closed their own doors and battened down the hatches. We were left with an empty office, an empty inbox and an even emptier bank account.
Suddenly we knew what failure looked like.
The interesting thing about failing, is that you really have no choice but to get back up again. Our rebuild involved a whole host of projects, some recruitment, some not, but every single one involved real people.
Fast forward to 2020, and our original plan to recruit outstanding people for London companies was right back on track.
We stepped back into the game in 2017, except this time we were intent on being “not your usual” recruitment agency.
We wanted to do things differently.
Amidst all the impressive employers and outstanding career opportunities, we see real people. For every shortlisted candidate, we recognise the tens of people that don’t get a look in.
For every successful candidate, we see over a hundred real people who are disappointed, frustrated and demoralised by their job search.
There is a real person behind every single resume; a person with their own fears, battles and responsibilities.
We want to do more. Our aim is to always help as many people as possible, and to hopefully play a part in your success story.
The TalentSmiths way is all about connection, respect and long-term relationships. We know that we can’t find every single person a job, but we can have a positive impact on your search, and we are committed to doing just that.
